Arrange a GP home visit
If you are too ill to come to the surgery and require a visit on that day, please telephone 0117 9082362 before 10.30am if possible. Please be prepared to give brief details of the nature of the illness so that the doctor can assess its urgency. Visits are normally dealt with at the end of morning surgery unless in the case of an emergency. You may be contacted first by a clinician to discuss your visit request.
If you are able to come to the surgery, then we would appreciate it if you could book an appointment. This is because home visits can take up to six times longer than an in-person surgery visit, so it helps the GP to see more patients if you can come to the surgery.
Other Home Visits
If you are housebound, you can also be visited by one of our practice nurses for review of chronic disease conditions or delivery of vaccinations such as influenza or covid. Sometimes, referrals are made by your GP for community nurse visits. You should be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
